Jules Coetzee writes: Our regular boardroom art installation has been refreshed to feature the photos of Henrik Knudsen. This particular exhibition features a selection of famous film locations, dubbed – unsurprisingly – On Location.

We’ve got 24 of the fellas hanging up in the office with a small competition to identify as many as possible over the exhibition’s duration. The prize is a bag of meat – chops, ribs, a salami.

Our latest TV ad for Sky Sports launched this weekend. Profiling this unique summer of sporting joy, it features some of Britain’s best sporting heroes as they prepare for their events.

Shot by Ivan Bird and our very own Harris, the spot was conceived by Ivan, Sky Creative Director Barry Skolnick and our good selves.

Another fine performance by all those involved. Not least the fine athletes who feature in this film. Enjoy.

Sky Sports named Sport Brand of the Year

Bravo to our friends at Sky Sports who were named Sport Brand of the Year at the annual Sport Industry Awards ceremony this week. They beat fellow contenders Manchester City Football Club and talkSPORT to the coveted title.

The award highlights how Sky Sports has developed from a fledgling sports broadcaster into a partner and major investor in grassroots and top-flight sport.

Sky Sports Managing Director Barney Francis received the award from Ryder Cup-winning golfer Paul McGinley and former Formula One star Mark Blundell. Nice work, people.

Harris: I’m calling early my website of the year

Elliot Harris writes: “Everything about this project says the people involved loved doing it. It’s beautifully designed, functional, simple and will be re-visited many many times. It pays homage to one of the great heroes of the British music scene with an unfussy approach I’m sure he would have approved of.

So well done the Arts Council for making it possible. What a legacy to leave. It will only get better and better, the more people interact with it. Im very jealous I wasn’t part of the making of that love but I’ll be showing it lots in the future either way.”

You’ve got to fight for your right to Mali

Geekings. We’re rather partial to a good party. If you’ve been to previous knees-ups of ours, then you may have had fun, got drunk, danced and helped us with our fundraising in Mali.

If you have, we thank you. If you haven’t, now’s your chance.

We’re having a party at Village Underground on Wednesday, May 30. It’s a Jubilee / Bank Holiday benevolent bun-fight. As well as top-flight entertainment and booze there will be a raffle and dancing. Please put it in your diary and make sure you come along.

In the meantime, please watch this video which explains what we’re hoping to achieve for our friends in Mali. We want to build a maternity ward. It’s not much – £8k to you and me. So, please help us achieve that and also kick off your bank holiday with aplomb.

What I have learnt about soccer… I mean football

Where I come from rugby is religion and football non-existent, meaning I could well be the luckiest man in Britain, yep the luckiest.

This rugby bias and being charged to look after our latest football campaign has meant I have had no choice but to watch as much football as possible. Score. Literally, score.

At times, this has meant disregarding the TV needs of all others around me, but hey I’m a dedicated employee.

So with all this ‘research’ under my belt, I have a few learnings to share.

1. Remember all acquaintances’ teams. Email them first thing in the morning if they’ve lost.
2. Always act convinced your team will win the Premier League, even after a 7-game losing streak.
3. Blame any loss on the fact your favorite player was left on the bench.
4. Lastly, never ever try to pretend you watched the game when you where instead watching Come Dine With Me… you never get away with it.

There’s lead in our pencil

And its a D+AD yellow pencil at that. That’s right folks last thursday the Street Tag app that we produced for our friends over at Channel 4 picked up a pencil in the Multi Media and Promotions category.
The app now has over 100,000 downloads and is still being used by people from as far away as Moscow, Hawaii and Cleethorpes so if you don’t have it download it here for free and get tagging.

Jack Kerruish writes: I absolutely love GIFs, they never cease to amaze and amuse me. Which is pretty astounding as the file type was invented way back in 1987 and only supports 8-bits per channel. Boring technical info aside the humble GIF is experiencing a renaissance of sorts with dedicated blogs ranging from Senor gif to Pixel fucks, as well as popping up on every message board and chat room under the sun. The beauty of Gifs lies in their strict file limitations and as we all know it’s boundaries that inspire great creative solutions. Below are a selection of some of my favourites, ranging from the low art ‘LOL GIFs’ to the high art ‘Cinemagraph’.
