The air hung heavy and concentration reigned supreme as the first annual B&S pumpkin carving competition got started yesterday night. Fuelled only by cheap vodka mix and beer, the crack team of carvers got to work crafting the ultimate orange glowing globe. Some went in fast, hacking away until crooked grimaces emerged. Others approached with all the calm of a zen master, producing first stencil then scalpel to create their masterpieces. The results were pretty good, if a little disturbing at times. Here are a little selection of our ‘carvations’.
