So the second Sky Sports TV ad featuring our man Eric launched last Friday. Since the first ad went live, we’ve had Twitter open with Cantona in the search bar. People’s reactions have varied from admiration to condemnation (boo hiss) and from the ridiculous to the sublime. So we thought it would be good to show you 10 of our favourites.
So here they are in no particular order.
ManunitedLuke just seen a shirt with im not just a man im eric cantona written on it
scouse25@timlovejoy I’m sure I’ve just heard Eric cantona say “f*** ‘em” on the sky sports add…the one where he’s in wembley?!?!?!?!?
HersheyBoyz I don’t care if they are adverts I LOVE seeing Cantona on tv
vitalbradford I know he’s scripted but those ads for Sky that Cantona is doing reminds me of the man’s great genius
TeresatheGG@IanDai I love those French philosophers! Cantona is my favourite. What was it he said about Sardines?
meglauder Is it really wrong to melt whenever Eric Cantona says anything?
JewelleryGenie I love Eric Cantona’s ads for Sky Sports HD. Mind you, I love Eric Cantona. He is aging well… *sigh*
DanFieldhouse God i f***ing love Eric Cantona, just looking at a photo of him makes me want him. He is actually #God
Adwil24 I want to declare my love for Eric Cantona, it’s that cheeky smile he does in the Sky Sports ad
sunbeam007 J’adore that Cantona Compromise advert by sky. Kind of a reminder that the 2 greatest stars of the EPL were French. #imissCantonaandHenry
One of the best things about working on a project like this is all the super-nice people you get to meet, obviously there was Eric, but we where also fortunate to collaborate with one of the best photographers working in London, Nadav Kander. We got him to say a few words about the shoot and working with Cantona.
We are pretty chuffed with ourselves over here at B&S HQ. The Sky Sports relaunch has been really well received and we had a lot of fun working on it. So to celebrate, we’ve decided to release some behind-the-scenes footage to show how we sent Eric back in time. It’s a time tunnel.
We have not one, not two, but three new entries into the happiness shrine. (Does anyone work around here?) First off there is this rather fetching picture frame aquired by Danielle from her trip to Mallorca where she worked with the crazy genius David LaChappelle. The second is the two frolicking bears from Montana in the US of A, courtesy of Miss Anna Blank. And last but not least we have a truly bizarre and some could say pointless gift of a wine cover in the shape of a dress, for which we can thank our lovely MD. So thank you Juliet, splendid effort.
In October 2008 The Impossible Project saved the last Polaroid production plant for Integral Instant film in Enschede (NL) since then they have steadily been bashing their brains together to reinvent and reproduce our beloved Polaroid film for professionals and amateurs alike
The first black and white films where available 4 months ago but the super exiting news is that the new colour film will be available from 29th July after being launched at Rencontres d’Arles. In conjunction with this photographers agent Valerie Hersleven has initiated an exhibition showcasing her represented artists using the new stock from The Impossible Project and is currently showing at Bar de la Roquette from 5-13 July
In these digital times it’s exiting and refreshing to see such belief and love for analogue instant photography.
The Sky Sports relaunch has landed. It celebrates the breadth and unpredictability of sport with footie legend, poet, philosopher and all round nice guy Mr Eric Cantona.
Featuring these lovely posters, it’s a fully integrated campaign across TV, digital and print so keep your eyes peeled.
In light of recent events some could argue that BP could do with a little positive PR, maybe a logo change to freshen things up a little. So Greenpeace took it upon themselves to to offer the public the opportunity to have crack in their ongoing campaign against BP and their investment in Canadian tar sands.
The competition is now closed but have a look at the entries on their flikr.
What a lovely surprise it was to open my morning Metro to discover the rather good article about our rather good app. This was doubly exciting as the app has surpassed our expectations with more than 82,000 downloads so far. Who knows how far this can go, maybe Gold at the D&AD awards. Ahem.
